From the desk of D Sterlin - "With so much going on in one's business its easy to think that we can hire someone to set our appointments. There is an art behind appointment setting that one must not over look during the building stages. It's this art that I'm about to reveal to you so that you may experience what it feels like to have your clients setting their own appointments and bringing you business!" |
Welcome all empowered entrepreneurs! It is my goal to enlighten you to the real power behind appointment setting. By using a few simple techniques you can maximize your exposure with your current client list and develop a new referral based client list.
Many of us seem to forget the posture that bring us to the point we're at now. When cultivating your appointment setting skills, don't underestimate yourself.
By having clear intentions and a restricted time frame you'll maximize your efforts. Once you switch your mind set to believe you are capable, you've already accomplished the hardest part.
Now its just a matter of actually setting the appointment and this can be done without the need of a company for hire. By using tools like the internet you can actually watch remotely as your clients set their own appointments and this is how.
Start allocating your work days with specific times you will set appointments and presentations. I suggest if your work week consists of five days you should put aside at minimum 2 days for this. The next step, which is optional, requires you to report these times to your clients either in email or blogging.
This should state that between the hours of x and y on the days of (insert days) the office will now handle all scheduling and planning of future events and meetings. This way your not bombarded with phone calls and emails throughout the day wasting bits and moments of your time.
Depending on the growth of your client list this should be broadcasted at least once a week. Now there are several options you have at this point.
By telling your clients they have specific times to schedule and confirm appointments you make it that much more difficult to abandon. Understanding people and the restraint one will take not to miss a deadline is powerful when used in business.
Slowly but surely this is when you can successfully eliminate all the clients who aren't really worth it in the end. Take this time to make notes of those who repeatedly ignore your appointments and scrap them from your list. Focus your energy on the 20% of your clients that make up most of your business.
Develop your relationships within these clients and when an exceptional job is done on your part seek a referral. This may be one of the oldest tricks in the book but it's one you must master.
By seeking and attaining the referral you extend your relationship with the previous client when an exceptional job is done with the new client. This will build trust and the client is more apt to refer you again.
In the end, this leaves you with a highly active client list and more referrals you can stand.
